Before the visitBefore Raleigh care becomes a commitment

Raleigh, North Carolina

Bring the questions with you

A visit is a place
to ask, too.

Before choosing a treatment name, put the problem you need help with on paper. Then leave room for an answer you did not expect.

Prepare questions for a Raleigh care visit.

  1. Write down your aim.

Use your own words to describe the help you are seeking. Bring the medicine name or the advert that raised the question.

  2. Bring the context.

Have your current medicines, supplements, allergies, and past health records ready to discuss.

  3. Ask for a reason and a follow-up plan.

Ask why this product fits the problem, what else could help, and how the person treating you will check the result.

Get an answer about the actual medicine.

  • What is the medicine’s ingredient name, also called its generic name?
  • Is the medicine an approved finished product, or will a pharmacy prepare it for me?
  • What evidence supports its use for my problem?
  • What is still uncertain?
  • What other options would you consider?

For new treatments, the Medical Board expects a frank account of benefits, risks, cost, and missing evidence, as of September 28, 2026.

A useful answer can include uncertainty. Ask for unfamiliar words to be explained.

Find out what happens after the visit.

  • Who will explain the label, storage, and use of this particular prescription?
  • What problems do I need to know about?
  • Who do I reach between visits, and how?
  • When would you arrange an exam or tests in person?
  • How will we decide whether to continue, change, or end the plan?

The Medical Board expects a person treating you online to plan care after the visit and arrange in-person care when needed, as of September 28, 2026.

Have the plan explained clearly enough that you can say it back yourself. Keep any questions about price with the treatment questions.

Keep the questions you want to carry.

Use Save note to keep your questions on this phone or computer. Return to this page using the same browser, the app you use to open websites, on the same device. The note will not appear on another device or in a different app, and clearing saved website data can erase it. Keep a copy on paper if you need it for the visit. If you share this device, use Clear saved note when finished. Keep names and personal health details out of this space.

Saving is not ready. If the Save note button stays unavailable, copy your questions onto paper or into your own notes app before leaving.
